The Sangeux-Bonnets. They hosted me in Melbourne
Hi everybody,
I'm in Melbourne since yesterday and the weather is cold but sunny. My journey was long. First I flew from Mayotte to Réunion. I spent a night there at my uncle's and then flew the following day to Mauritius. I met Clarel, my taxi driver from my precedent trip and went to Mahébourg (first settlement in the island named after the first French governor Mahé de la Bourdonnais). Afterwards, I went to Blue Bay where the sea is really beautiful (and blue of course). Mauritius deserves its paradise reputation even if Clarel told me that the situation between different communities is far from perfect. He told me that Hindouists have more privileges thant other communities.
After 6 hours in Mauritius, I flew to Perth, Western Australia. There I spent an hour at the customs, because the officers are very aware of animal and vegetal importations in the island. Then I waited 2 hours for a shuttle to change terminal. In Perth, the domestic terminal is 15 km far from the international terminal. I've never seen that before and you have to pay 8 AUS$ to get the shuttle.
Finally I arrived in Melbourne and Améli picked me up. I know her for 25 years and it's a bit weird to meet her here in Australia. As we say in French, the world is small ! Everything is big here in Australia like in Canada and it's cold. Fortunately, I kept my Scottish fleece and Mabel's peruvian scarf.
See ya
